Last March, the Madeira Film Festival (MFF), organized by Creative Madeira, the Cultural, Educational and Environmental Association, and LEGALWORKS - Gomes da Silva & Associados, entered into an agreement, which will provide, during 2017, legal advice, pro bono, to the MADEIRA FILM FESTIVAL.
"CREATIVE MADEIRA - Cultural, Educational and Environmental Association" aims to promote culture and education, namely through the organization and promotion of national and international cultural and educational events, including film festivals, musical concerts, workshops, seminars and competitions in the area of audiovisual, multimedia and cinema, as well as recreational and thematic parties.
This association organizes and promotes the regional, national and international dissemination of the "Madeira Film Festival", the cinematographic and audiovisual activity, especially that held in the island of Madeira, through conferences, promotional parties, videos, films and publications in the local press, National and international.
It also organizes educational competitions of a regional, national and international nature aimed at stimulating the knowledge and the taste for the audiovisual and cinematographic activities and the like and promotes exhibitions, celebrations and celebrations of events related to the object of the association .
The MFF is an international festival of nature cinema, honoring the Laurissilva Forest of Madeira, awarding the title of "Ambassadors of the Laurissilva Forest" to all the directors, actors and guests that attend the different editions of the festival. Has as patron S.A.R. The Lord Duke of Bragança.
It has 5 editions and a brand created that promotes Portugal and Madeira island through film, music, Madeira’s wine and an educational project involving schools and students this week of cinema.
The festival takes place annually in the spring on Madeira island and during the rest of the year promotes portuguese culture through its international tour in the United States (New Bedford, Washington, Los Angeles and Boston) and in London and Lisbon, where films are shown, Organized a Madeira's Wine cocktail with promotional films of the festival, as well as cinematographic productions held in Portugal.
